Pressure Cap

Introduction

Kvenna’s Pressure Cap delivers a robust, ROV-installable secondary seal barrier for subsea ball valve systems. Engineered for reliability, simplicity and cost-efficiency in high-pressure underwater operations.

More about our Pressure Cap

In demanding subsea environments, valve stem-seal leaks can pose serious risks. Our Pressure Cap was developed to address this challenge in a clever yet practical manner. Designed for installation by WROV (Work ROV) and locking via 90° rotation by ROV handle, the device provides an extra layer of defence when primary seals fail. Before retrieval, pressure is equalised to ensure safe intervention.

The system is built to operate at depths down to 1,500 metres and supports ball-valve sizes from 20″ to 34″, depending on model. Constructed in super-duplex stainless steel and incorporating PTFE lip seals, it offers metal-to-metal sealing and robust performance up to 384 bar. With in-air weights ranging from 131 kg to 182 kg and fully submerged weights under 10 kg, its design also supports streamlined logistics and handling subsea.

Sustainability and cost-effectiveness were key drivers in the design. Because the Pressure Cap is optimized for subsea installation and retrieval, intervention time and operational risk are reduced. Its environmentally friendly construction, compact dimensions and minimal maintenance need make it an efficient choice for operators.

From large ball-valve stems on deep-water manifolds to tie-in systems in harsh offshore sites, Kvenna’s Pressure Cap has earned its place as a trusted solution. Backed by our engineering, manufacturing and service competence, it empowers clients with an additional barrier at the heart of subsea valve integrity.
